Welcome to the home of Rowan Tree Research
I believe that without understanding history – my own history – I am incapable of fully grasping who I am. Our identities do not emerge in isolation; they are shaped over generations. In this very individualistic age, it's easy to forget that we are profoundly affected by our ancestors and by the social and historical forces that shaped their lives long before ours began.
We aren't defined by our past, but it's still very relevant to us, even today, shaping our values, opportunities, and sense of belonging in ways we may not immediately recognise. The places our families lived, the work they undertook, the communities they formed, and even the hardships they endured all leave subtle marks upon us. Researching a personal history is, of course, a very personal thing, but perhaps you need some help to get started?
