If you occasionally hear a 2 second pause during a sermon it is because some older sermons have been merged from files which were originally five minutes in length. 

If you wish to download a sermon and then convert it into .wav format so that it can be burned to a CD and played on a CD player, then I recommend this free software: File Converter. It is very simple to use. If you have a newer CD player, it may be able to play mp3 files - in which case just make an audio CD of the mp3 file.
