William John CUMMING (known as 'Bill'), son of William CUMMING (1877-1953) and Margaret FRASER (1879?-1943), was born on 30 July 1908 in Nairn, Nairnshire, Scotland. He emigrated from Nairn, Nairnshire, Scotland to Quebec, Canada on 14 April 1928 on board the Melita of the Canadian Pacific Line. He gave his occupation as printer. On 9 April 1931 he returned to Greenock, Scotland from St John, New Brunswick, on board the 'Duchess of Atholl' of the Canadian Pacific Line, intending to return to Canada after a brief stay. He gave his occupation as linotype operator. However, his parents prevailed upon him to remain at home. He was brought up at Nairn. He married Anna MACLEOD on 28 July 1934 in Chelsea, London, England. They settled at London after their marriage. He died on 24 August 1973 in Sidcup, Bexley, Kent, England. He was buried on 31 August 1973 in Sidcup, Bexley, Kent, England.
